Cypress, Texas
Jr.FLL & FLL Cypress Lego League is a no go I have heard back from TWO FLL coaches -they have full teams. I have no information about teams/programs in other areas. The British International School of Houston (BISH) has been chosen as a FIRST®LEGO® League Affiliate Partner in Texas. BISH will support official tournaments to over 200 teams and serving as host to the annual regional championship. Visit FLL South Texas - Houston Region website www.fllhouston.com for more information. FRC First Robotics Competition (high school level) Cyborgs Team #3335 is underway. Contact them through their website if interested. https://www.cyborgs3335.org/ FIRST Robotics Competition Tournament Kids and Parents, FRC is a REALLY EXCITING tournament to experience. Check out their CALENDAR! The Cy-Borgs invite you to visit us back behind the scenes in “The Pits” (think race-car pits where the crew works on the engine). Be sure to wear close toe shoes (tennis shoes are fine) you’ll don safety glasses (required) and get to see what goes on during a tournament and ask the high school students questions about an FRC team. FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) is your next step after FLL and several members of our FLL team have moved up to the Cy-Borgs. We're Charlene and Eric Jandik, Coles Crossing residents and parents of Sampson and Cy-Woods students. In 2010 our daughter wanted to join an FLL team; finding none in our area, we created this League. We run this league, coach a Jr.FLL team (now moving up to FLL) and mentor Cy-Borgs FRC team. (We volunteer; NOT paid nor do we work for FLL or Lego.) We need parents to organize Jr.FLL teams/tournament AND coaches for FLL for this league to work. 2014-15 TEAMS 'Turbo Builders', 'Brick Brainstormers', 'SPIES', and 'Mind Creators' with our Lego Overlord reviewers from Schilling Robotics (Michael, Jessica, Amber and Steve) with Brenda, the FIRST Senior mentor. THANKS team coaches, co-coaches, parents and ALL of our amazing VOLUNTEERS who make this possible!
